Jillian Peever

Jillian Peever has danced in works by several independent choreographers in Toronto, including Angela Blumberg, Sylvie Bouchard, Denise Fujiwara, Michael Greyeyes, and Sasha Ivanochko. In 2021 she founded The SPACE Upstairs (not-for-profit organization) which makes contemporary dance more accessible and relatable in rural Ontario. She juggles motherhood while creating, collaborating, organizing, and teaching. Her artistic development began with six cumulative years of professional training at major dance institutions in Toronto and continued with professional development workshops and classes at home and abroad. She received performance coaching from Peggy Baker in 2015 which supported her immensely in the solo show The Mystery of Mr. Leftovers by Sharon B. Moore. She subsequently won a Dora Mavor Moore award for her performance.
