Sahara Morimoto

Sahara Morimoto is a certified Ilan Lev Method practitioner & ILM movement teacher, based in Toronto, Canada. She is a graduate of the Practitioners Course in Poland and the Movement Instructors Course in Tel Aviv, with the support of the Ontario Arts Council and the Dancer Transition Resource Centre. She served as a guide for ILM international Online Basic Training Course in 2021/22, and for ILM Movement Instructors Course in 2022.

For Peggy Baker Dance Projects: Sahara was a member of the core ensemble from 2010-2019, and served as Artistic Associate from January 2008 – June 2015, assisting Peggy with teaching, rehearsals, and staging repertoire, as well as participating in The Choreographer’s Trust Year Three (Unfold and Brute). Sahara performed the repertory works Yang, Sylvan Quartet, In a Landscape, Aleatoric Duet No. 2, and Geometry of the Circle as well as originating roles in who we are in the dark, Aleatoric Trio No. 1, locus plot,  land | body | breath, The Perfect Word, Split Screen Stereophonic, Night Garden, Aleatoric Solo No. 1, coalesce, on earth, and move.
