Michael Sean Marye is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, coach and visual artist. He has performed extensively throughout North America, South America, Europe and Asia. He began his performance career with Toronto Dance Theatre, working with choreographers David Earle, Peter Randazzo, Patricia Beatty, Christopher House and James Kudelka. He has also worked with numerous Canadian and US companies including Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie, Doug Varone and Dancers, Signal Theatre, Volcano Theatre, Overall Dance , Art of Time Ensemble, Dancetheatre David Earle, Chartier Danse , Cloud 9, Kaeja d’Dance, Tribal Crackling Wind, Julia Sasso Dances and Dreamwalker Dance Company. He partnered with Veronica Tennant in a 22-city national tour of the stage production of The Piano Man’s Daughter, with Timothy Findley, Sylvia Tyson, Joe Sealy and Jack Nicholson. He has also been featured in a number of dance films.

His choreography, which has been presented across Canada and has been nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award (Toronto), includes commissions for Toronto Dance Theatre, Overall Dance, York University, L’école de danse du Québec, and independent film and theatre productions. A former professional woodworker, Michael has also designed and built sets and other production elements for his works. A renewed interest in photography and visual art has also led him to incorporate these additional multi-disciplinary elements as part of his artistic expression.

For Peggy Baker Dance Projects: Michael performed in move as part of the multi-gallery durational event interior wth moving figures at the AGO, and with Peggy in James Kudelka’s A Woman By A Man.
