Anne van Leeuwen

Anne van Leeuwen is a classically trained actress, whose work is well-known throughout Canadian theatre. Raised in South Mountain, Ontario (population, 300), van Leeuwen first discovered her love of stagecraft after joining a local dance troupe, and later, an acting workshop with Ottawa Little Theatre. After graduating high school, Anne attended Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Québec where she received her B.A. in Drama. Van Leeuwen also attended the Bilingual Acting Workshop in Paris, France before completing her formal training at New York’s prestigious acting conservatory Circle In The Square Theatre School. She is the co-founder and artistic director of Leroy Street Theatre and a founding member of The Assembly Theatre in Toronto, Canada. Outside of her artistic work, van Leeuwen advocates for and champions breast cancer awareness, being a survivor herself.
