Knuckleduster
musicians

The duo known as Knuckleduster (Debashis Sinha and Robert Lippok) began through a mutual fascination with sound and sound production. Based on long discussions in Toronto, Berlin, and via internet, Berlin electronic artist Robert Lippok (Monika, raster-media, Staubgold, Gustaff) and Toronto percussionist Debashis Sinha (Gustaff, Establishment) created a foundation for music-making based on the respect of each others work and a deep friendship. Lippok’s extensive international experience and critical acclaim in electronic music, education and media arts pairs his emotional and delicate sound approach with the organic tones of Sinha’s percussion improvisations and extended techniques to form a unique sonic collaboration that Wire magazine calls “a genuine two-man exploration” that relies on a careful manipulation of a focused sound world.

For Peggy Baker Dance Projects: Peggy licensed tracks from Knuckleduster’s album Nuukoono for the soundtrack for Split Screen Stereophonic.
