Jacqueline Ethier

Sudbury native Jacqueline Ethier is a dance artist, teacher, mother and business woman.  She is a company member with Compagnie ODD (Yvonne Coutts).  Rooting herself within the Ottawa dance community, Jacqueline has worked with DORSALE danse (Sylvie Desrosiers) for two decades and with Tara Luz Danse (Anik Brouvrette) for over a decade.  She is a graduate of the Contemporary Dance Programme at The School of Dance in Ottawa. 

Jacqueline has been a leader in the Health and Wellness community and enriching the lives of many through her compassionate teaching style since founding Pilates Space in 2002.  She believes in the power of movement education to change and enrich lives. 

With funding from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council Jacqueline commissioned new works by Peggy Baker, a solo in 2008 and a duet with Sarah Hopkin in 2019, both creative processes and experiences that had a profound effect on many aspects of her life as a woman. 

For Peggy Baker Dance Projects: Jacqueline performed her solo commission three story house aspart of the durational performance event interior with moving figures at the Art Gallery of Ontario. since then, her duet commission by Peggy with dancer Sarah Hopkin, premiered in Ottawa in 2022
