Denis Huneault-Joffre
costume designer

Born in Ottawa, Denis has been a dancer, fashion designer and has devoted over thirty years to costuming dance and theatre. He has designed and produced costumes for a diverse group of companies including: Toronto Dance Theatre (as resident costume designer and wardrobe coordinator for fourteen years), Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, The National Ballet of Canada, Danny Grossman Dance Company, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Theatre & Company and individual artists such as Karen Kain, Patricia Beatty, Allan Kaeja and Judith Thompson. These productions, close to 180 in total, range from solo dance works to full company productions.

Denis developed and for several years taught the first year costume lab for the Dance Department at York University as well as the first and second year wardrobe courses at Humber College School of the Performing Arts, Theatre Production Program.  His involvement with the educational environment continued with his work as Costume Supervisor for the School of English and Theatre Studies at the University of Guelph from which he has now retired.
